Eid (28.03.25)

We celebrated Eid across school, we explored what Eid is, why and how it is celebrated, looked at traditional dress and we tried some traditional sweet treats, made various crafts.

Holi (14.03.25)

We celebrated the Hindu festival of Holi which marks the beginning of Spring. The festival is celebrated by throwing colourful paint, representing the colours of Spring.

Christingle/ Carols Around the Tree (20.12.24)

Children learned about and made Christingles, they also performed readings and sang carols to celebrate Christmas and the end of term. It was lovely to have everyone together.

Class 1 Shabbat

In Class 1 we have been learning about Shabbat. We found out what families do for Shabbat and we made our own Challah bread.

Harvest Festival (19.10.24)

Our whole school travelled down to St. Stephen’s church today to celebrate Harvest with Reverend Shirley. We raised the roof with our beautiful singing of Autumn Days and Cauliflowers Fluffy and Class 4 gave a fantastic reading. We then donated our contribution to the food bank and the food was blessed by Reverend Shirley.

Class 1 – Raksha Bandhan (28.6.24)

Children in Class 1 learned about the Hindu festival Raksha Bandhan. They made Rakhi bracelets for their friends and siblings.

Class 1- Baptism (14.5.24)

Class 1 children have been learning about Christian baptism. As part of our unit, we visited St Steven’s Church where Rev Shirley kindly baptised one of our babies. Children played various roles including mam, dad and godparents and we even got to play the organ.

Holi Festival (26.04.24)

This year we marked Holi festival (a Hindu celebration of harvest) by having a colour run. Children and parents from all year groups took part, it was so colourful and lots of fun.

Easter (2024)

Easter was celebrated in many different ways across school. There was a whole school egg decorating competition, classes made Easter cards and crafts and Class 1 went on an Easter egg hunt and acted out the Easter story.

Christmas (2024)

Christmas is celebrated in many different ways in our school. Often we go to our local church. This year we had a whole school performance, made Christmas cards and decorations, hosted a Christmas fair and Santa even paid the children a couple of visits.

Hannukah (07.12.24)

The importance of light was the theme throughout school for our Hanukkah celebration. Every class made menorahs and Class 4 played spin the Dreidel!

Diwali (10.11.23)

Our whole school celebrated Diwali, the Hindu festival of light. We learnt about the meaning behind the celebration and make our own beautiful lanterns. Look out for them around school!

Harvest Festival (25.10.23)

We went to St. Stephen’s Church for our Harvest celebration. Sadly, Reverend Shirley was ill, so Steven, the church reader, stepped in to take the service. It was a wonderful celebration, full of singing and joy. We lifted the Church roof with our version of Autumn Days-especially the chorus!
