Mega Motion walk

Pupils enjoyed some fun, fitness and furry feet when they took part in a special walk to Sunnybrow Primary School based on The Hobbit.

Aliesha from Class 4 won a MEGA Motion competition to decide which famous hero or villain should accompany pupils to school and was rewarded with Bilbo Baggins himself escorting the pupils as they walked, cycled and scooted to school. Aliesha got more than she bargained for with MEGA Motion mascot Sam also joining in the fun along with members of Willington Town Council and local Police Community Support Officers.

Once there, pupils enjoyed a special assembly highlighting the benefits of healthy and environmentally friendly ways of getting to school. The special day was the latest in our MEGA Motion campaign but a new experience for Sunnybrow Primary pupils who are taking part in the scheme for the first time this year.

The staff from Mega Motion were extremely impressed with us and sent Miss Potts this email after the walk…

I just wanted to e-mail to say many thanks to all of the staff and children of Sunnybrow Primary School for taking part in the Mega Motion Walk and assembly on Friday. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as Team Local Motion did. All of my team commented on what wonderfully behaved children you have at the school and what a pleasure it was to meet them.

Keep up the brilliant work for Mega Motion!
