International School Award

We are hoping to achieve our international school award. The aim of this award is to help develop children’s global awareness and citizenship. To help us achieve this award, we have formed a partnership with Kiungururia Primary school. Kiungururia Primary school is situated in the Nakuru county of Kenya.

The school has 700 children with 25 teachers. As we complete projects in partnership with Kiungururia Primary school, we will add our work to this page, so keep checking for up-dates.

Foundation Level International School Award
We are excited to announce that we have gained the Foundation Level International School Award! This award recognises our developing partnership with Kingururia Primary School. To achieve this award, we carried out a project called ‘Ten Photos’. Each class were given a focus area; our school, our village, our county or our country and we had to select 10 photos or images that we felt best reflect that area. We then exchanged images with pupils in Kingururia Primary, who selected the same images for their focus areas. It was exciting to compare and contrast life in the two different countries!

Connecting Classrooms

We have recently secured funding through Connecting Classrooms to arrange exchange visits for members of staff in Sunnybrow and Kingururia. We are currently in the planning stages and hoping to have Freshiah from Kingururia visit us in September!
