Welcome to our School Council page
What is the School Council?
A new school council is elected each year, with representatives from Year 2 upwards. This creates a central group that speaks on behalf of the whole-school and makes decisions about school life. We value the opinions of our pupils and the School Council gives pupils a forum to share these opinions with the Head Teacher and other members of staff.
What we do
Our School Council has the very important task of listening to the views and ideas of pupils at Sunnybrow Primary. We are dedicated to constantly improving our school and we speak on behalf of the children in our school. Our School Council, which meets every half term, is supported by Mrs Sim and Mrs Cooper.
As well as speaking on behalf of the children in our school, the School Council are also given a project to achieve in school across the year. In previous years, the School Council have played an active role in helping our school gain the Wellbeing Award for Schools and developing an awareness of the importance of a balanced diet. Last year, the School Council helped school to achieve the Rainbow Flag Award.
Who are our School Council members?

What this space to find out exactly what we have planned for this year!
(02.10.25) Today was the first official meeting of the school council. We identified 3 priorities for the year:
- To develop activities and resources for outdoor play
- To grow kindness around school
- To promote health eating
