Our class have taken part in a fantastic Shakespeare project (through the RSC) over the past term. We did lots of drama activities and loved learning about one of Shakespeare’s most popular plays, Romeo and Juliet. Even though some of us were nervous at first, we all quickly began to enjoy the project and we had a brilliant time preparing for a performance of our scene at Hunwick Primary School. For the performance, we surprised pupils and staff from Hunwick by entering in the middle of their assembly for our ‘flash’ Shakespeare. Although we hadn’t met before, the children from both schools worked very well together as we taught our new friends about our play. At the end of the morning, we worked with the children from Hunwick to perform the scene again with both classes involved. Everyone was amazed by how good the performance was and we can’t wait to learn more about Shakespeare’s other plays.
