14th November

Today’s focus was on anti-bullying. We took part in role play scenarios to try and understand how people might feel if they are being bullied.

We also played an emotions board game. This encouraged us to talk about different times in our lives when we might have felt some of these emotions which included being sad, angry, embarrassed and happy.

14th November

Yesterday was Multi-faith Day in school. We took part in lots of different activities including making Peace Mala Bracelets and fact finding about all the different religions from around the world.

Each coloured head on our bracelets represented a different religion. In the middle we put a white stone which represented ourselves. We did this to show how we are surrounded by many different religions and no matter what someone believes in, we are all equal.

We also took part In mix and match research activity. We found out lots of different information about different religions.

13th October

This week was our Harvest Festival in school. We worked with Class 4 to do a presentation about the meaning of harvest as well as creating our own harvest artwork.

13th October

We’ve been looking at plate tectonics as part of our Geography topic on natural disasters. We broke up poppadoms to demonstrate how the earth is broken up into plates, then we tried to put them back together again. Afterwards we completed jigsaws to show the plate boundaries around the world…before eating our poppadoms!

11th October

Today we had a member of the British Judo team come in to school and deliver a free taster session for our class. We had the opportunity to practice our judo stance and develop quick hands.

25 September

Today in Literacy we’ve been making human sentences to help us understand how to use inverted commas to show when someone is speaking.

22 September

In PSHCE we’ve been talking about new starts. We came up with our own ideas about what we could do to help a new member of our class settle in to school.

14 September

As part of our DT work on Japanese food, we tried some tasters of some Japanese style dishes this afternoon. We then wrote about what we liked and what we didn’t like about each dish. They were all very tasty, even if the noodles were a bit spicy!

8th September

Class 3 have ended an excellent first week back at school by working in teams to solve problems linked to our work on place value. Well done to everybody for working so hard all week.

We used measuring tubes to measure capacity using the standard units of litres and millilitres. Using lots of water, we found out the capacity of several different containers.

15th March
We experimented with yet more non-standard units, this time to find the capacity of different objects. Using water, we found out how many “pots” it took to fill different containers; such as bottles, jugs and mugs.
